heading home

Any journey that lasts a whole day is evil. I’ve been awake for over 2 days and I’m well knackered, but for some reason I still have this compulsion to catch up on RSS feeds.

‘Tis good to be back.

Y’know what I miss?

25 01 2008

Being online and fining random stuff online. Like a planned scientology raid. Or awesome videos on youtube. That’s why I’m sitting in an internet cafe, with air-con blasting in my face. So I can get fed some culture.

I also miss mash potato.

Went on a major spending spree the other day. Came back with a zippo, pepperspray, a leatherman e303 and (another) backpack. Now I have no monies.

The leatherman is great though, and it means I don’t have to carry my gerber paraframe around anymore. ‘Cause with the blade at 3.53″, I was gonna get arrested for it soon enough. The e303 is only 2.8″ ^_^ And the Blade Launcher™ is much fun.

6 days to go..

24 01 2008

what?

As if the days weren’t passing slowly enough, now the cable has been cut off :| The discovery channel was keeping me going. Now all that’s left is GMA & ABSCRAP.

10 more days ’till I land at Heathrow. Hopefully on the runway, not the grass. Sigh.

It’s super duper great that it only costs £1.50 to go to the cinema here (as opposed to the 100 squid you pay at Leicester Square), and that it’s walking distance, but some people here have no theater manners. Yesterday, we went to see Sweeny Todd, and some asshole two seats to my left was playing his PSP the whole way through! And it’s not like he bothered shielding the distracting light, no. He shone it in my direction >_< I swear to god, I’ma punch someone soon.

It is also not a punishable offense here to push in front of someone in a line. Like this little midget dude who pushed in front of me at McDo, without any remorse. AND the till lady just served him, like he’d been there all along. Gah!

The local supermarket has Kraft Macaroni & Cheese for 90p. I’ve already started packing my suitcase with boxes of the stuff. And ice tea mix. And pocky. And dried mango. And nerds. And stuff from the Japanese 88p shop. I may have to wear all of my clothes on to the plane :|

I found a faux-lego brick iPod speaker at a cool shop called ‘human’. ‘Twas only about £4 ^_^ I got a red ‘un. Dunno how I lived without it. On max volume, it sounds really noisy, but apart from that its really good.

Cloverfield is released here the day I leave. My flight is at 23:30, so I may have time to catch it if there’s an early screening. Hoooorah.

Kumain ka na ba?

17 01 2008

The home sickness was just a passing phase, I’m actually quite enjoying it here now. It’s a lot less dull now that they’ve built a new mall 10mins away from our house. I have made it my mission to try every food/drink & watch every film playing there. And at the bigger local mall (a short jeepney ride away).

Chowking fooking rocks. Chao fan is my new love. KFC here is even better. You can get something called a “rice bowl” which is just a bowl of rice with chicken & some nice sauce on top. Mmm. And I intend on trying the BBQ ribs & rice at Mc Donalds.

My SD cards are empty, not filled with photos as I’d hoped they would be. I still haven’t been taking many photos. Can’t be arsed. I’m on holiday. It’s all about eating good food and chillin’.

The chaos & disorder of this country is making me a bit mad though. I’ve gone a bit OCD to create a bit of order, if only in our house.

When you plug a PAL Wii into a NTSC TV, everything comes up B&W :( So I have been playing B&W GH3.
