going where the road won’t dare

I was so happy that I got to get out of PT today because of the night drive we have, but it turns out no one else is doing PT now. They have a brief. That always happens to me – I get out of PT somehow, then PT ends up being cancelled anyway.

Passed the cross country assessment ^_^ Wasn’t too hard, panicked over nothing.

things not to do on PT:

25 02 2009
  • wear non-issue kit
  • have your shirt untucked
  • cross your arms
  • put your hands on your hips
  • say anything to a PTI without following it with “staff”
  • walk on the gym floor
  • stop whatever exercise you should be doing
  • leave kit/water bottles in the gym after lesson
  • spit
  • talk
  • “with a jump – about turn” to the left
  • stare/oogle at the PTI

Cross country in the military vehicles is awesome. Most fun I’ve had driving. The steep hills are shit scary. You have to wear yer helmet on xcountry, bounce all over the place.

So yeah, I’m actually enjoying it here now. Even though we have a block inspection at 2000hrs because it wasn’t up to standard this morning. I’m actually glad of it, because it means the lazy fuckers who didn’t bother waking up early enough to clean have to clean tonight. Making the block nice and clean :)

Bah, mobile boradband seems to be getting slower every time I come back from my high-speed home.

It’s starting to feel a bit like spring now. The mornings aren’t so dark and the temperature isn’t so low. Happy days.

Current read:

A lot of the instructors here are ex-military. Most of them are insane. One today looked like he’d walked straight off a Little Britain set. He even had a pocket watch.

Driving up and down the M1 every weekend is becoming a chore. It was really exciting the first time – but now I’m really getting fed up of it. I want to get posted to a unit close to London. Fuck driving up and down the country every week.

Can’t be arsed ironing my kit for tomorrow. Still have to dig out my helmet for getting under the trucks. It’s probably still manky from the last exercise/gas chamber.

By some miracle I got put onto the last 18-part of driver training today. Dunno how I’ve gotten this far tbh. Can’t really dive all that well. Surprised I haven’t died on the M1 coming back to London.

I drove back today ’cause there was fuck all to do on camp as everyone else has gone home for the weekend.

Shit scared about having to do cross country training. They have some big-ass hills.
