wait out, again

Got delayed again. We’re leaving here at 2200hrs now. That’s the third time. I hope there’s a fourth time. I really can’t be bothered with a long flight. Don’t even know where I’m flying from, or what kind of plane it is (civvie/mil). Could be a C-17 for all I know.

Just been for a walk into Abingdon. Not much there, but I found an asian supermarket, which made me very happy. I’d run out of ramen. The river thames is so narrow here.

Flight delayed. Might be flying tomorrow. Maybe. At some unknown time. Waiting out on a phone call.

Been mega messed around today.

Got my dog tags. I didn’t even know they still issued them.I hope the blood type is right.

Also got issued all my kit (bergen, poncho, sleeping bag etc).

Spent the last half hour trying to work out how to assemble the webbing. It was all assembled for us in basic training, so I’ve not had to put it together before. Could only find this how to’. Doesn’t really help. The straps are confusing. Personally, I quite like this configuration.

Will be out there for about 6 weeks. I think.

update: YAY figured out the webbing.

THANK FOOKING GAWD. They should start with getting single living accommodation to service personnel stuck in 6 man rooms. Just sayin’.

Speaking of 6 man rooms, I have to go back to mine tomorrow, despite suffering from self-diagnosed swine flu. I’M DYING. My body always goes down when I go on leave. It’s like it notices that I’ve slowed down and panics.

Supposed to be flying to Canada in a few days. Psh. There goes my plans to cycle to W1.

Been totally hypocritical. Considering buying a brand new plastic-wrapped car. I said I’d never buy a new car. I also said I’d never buy a small car.

A Kia Rio Chill. With the government scrappage scheme, it works out pretty cheap. A bike fits in the back.
