dahon jack: first thoughts

It finally came this afternoon ^_^ Just been on a ride on it as the sun was setting, and it was so awesome. Really, words cannot describe the love. It is such a smooth ride, the big apple tires make such a big difference. The skinny seat isn’t uncomfortable as I thought it would be. The brakes are… really sensitive. It’s all good. The folding is a bit difficult, but perhaps I just have to get used to it. And it’s not as easy to carry as I expected, but it’s all good. I have to get used to carrying awkward heavy things anyway.

Now all that’s left is to get some lights and mud guards on it. There is no place to put a bottle holder, so I guess that’s out. Ah well. Who needs hydration when you’re having so much fun?

Edit: Oh, there is a place to attach a drink holder ^_^

Last night I accidentally downloaded “Doomsday 2012” thinking it was “Doomsday“, the British film.

Thought I might as well watch it anyway. Big mistake. It was the worst film I have ever had the misfortune to watch. First there was really crappy dialog and acting, then it started to copy “Day After Tomorrow” with the father-in-charge-wants-kid-back-earth-is-fucked thing, and then it got all Christian propagandy and I fell asleep when it started snowing in the jungle. This is the first time I have ever fallen asleep during a movie, it was that bad. It made baby jebus cry. It made “Meet The Spartans” look epic.

I just spent far too long figuring out a way to play video on my NDS. I’ve finally gotten an episode of South Park to play by converting it to a .dpg.

All of this is pointless, of course, as these video files could just be played on the iPod.

When you’re cycling on the roads, you can feel pretty vulnerable. I once had a cool skateboard helmet, but I lost it on the central line. Then I had a proper cyclists helmet, but I lost that on a great western train. Yeah, I know, stop leaving stuff on trains.

So I went down to halfords to see if they had any decent helmets. This is what I saw:

All shite and boring. Why do cyclists helmets have so many giant gaps in them?
